Props, couture and ribbons OH MY!

One of the main reasons you hire a professional in any trade is that they can bring something to the table that is above and beyond your available resources.  Your portraits with squeaker & yoyo will sparkle because I bring you my expertise in digital artistry as well as fashion styling to your images.

What is fashion styling?
  • It is my assistance and guidance in choosing your families’ wardrobe the day of the shoot.
  •  Access to dozens of hats, ribbons, floral head pieces, bow ties, and fascinators to add that little bit of flair, taking your outfit into the next level.
  •   Creative backdrops and set ups to create the mood of your shoot and tell the story of your family in that moment.
  •  It’s access to my collection of couture children’s clothing (a collection that is growing every day).  Do you need something extra special for your little one to wear?  Ask me what is available in their size.  We have tutus, diaper covers, leg warmers with ruffles, pea coats, motorcycle jackets, new born wraps and even a fur cape!
  • The best images result when our kids are at play.  I love rocking babies to sleep in my antique bassinet and then snapping away while they are in blissful slumber.  Bubble machines and a colorful caterpillar ride are a child’s dream day.  Siblings look perfect in our vintage radio flyer.  Princesses and princes alike are oh so excited to ride our 100 year old antique rocking horse. We have had an entire family of four fit on our old fashioned wooden sled.
My fashion background creeps into all my images, style is a major element of my work and is reflected in the things that surround you at the shoot, what you wear and the approach I take with my camera and editing.  I get my inspiration from countless places, and I love to see what inspires you too.  Most importantly you should know that styled portraiture is still very spontaneous and fun for your family.  It’s all about letting your three foot tall dictator enjoy her day; we just give her the prettiest setting and details to play in!

Fashion shoot for Tutus with Love

I am very excited to be partnering with Tutus with love by Tatsiana.  We recently got together to photograph some of her lovely home made accessories and tutus.  Our girls had a lot of fun playing princess models.  I had fun getting creative, her lovely clothing line was very inspiring!

Fashion Inspired Maternity Shoot

Lately I have found myself very inspired by fashion editorial photography.  Because of my background as a model this style has always been of interest to me, and I always bring some of that feel into my work through the posing. I coach my "models" in each shoot how to pose to bring out their most glamorous side.  I like to bring a smidgen of glamour and romance to every shoot regardless of the subject.  I want all the moms in my images to feel just as beautifully captured as their darling little ones.  I love to see the romance in an expecting mothers' eyes as she gazes adoringly at her blooming belly.  And the soft everlasting love pass between two parents as their eyes meet over top of their children's heads.
I strive to create images that are more then just "cute", so I was thrilled when this expecting second time mama, decided to make her shoot all about herself in this moment in time.  A celebration of womanhood was perfectly reflected in the bounty of nature that is harvest season.  My creativity was sparked on this Indian summer evening and we got an amazing array of moods and images with the changing light.
