A photo studio - in YOUR home!
Baby it's cold outside! January and February can be particularly hard months for outdoor family photography, because it is so unpredictable and COLD in Ontario. The images are always stunning even in a snow storm but I understand why you may not want to brave a storm with your wee babes. I have an easy set up I use to create an at home studio look in your house. It is completely portable so we can do it in just about any room in your house with good light. Here is an example of a self portrait I took of my daughter and my self in her 9 foot bedroom.
And here is a pull back of the set up. That's me checking my settings :) So glamorous, I know.

Surprise Proposal and Engagement Photos - Downtown Brampton
The scene was set. I
was the orchestrator of the surprise but I think I was more nervous than he
was. To explain away my presence on their afternoon date I was playing the role
of hired product photographer for the gorgeous custom cake shop Dolcezza Custom
Cakes in downtown Brampton. I put on my
best acting skills and the action begins as an adorable young couple enter the
shop. She is the only one who does not
know that she is about to be proposed to.
The shop owner, the boyfriend and I have all crafted this moment; he is
about the pop the question!!
She sits in the charming shop by the window as he approaches
the counter to buy them some cupcakes and tea.
The shop owner asks politely if they would mind having their photo taken
since she has a photographer in the shop taking promotional images currently,
it would be great to have some showing customers too.
Her favorite decadent chocolate cupcake arrives on a pink
dish, on top of the cupcake sits an engagement ring. Before we know it he is down on one knee and
she says yes!!
After finishing their yummy treat we head out into a misty
afternoon for their engagement photo shoot.
The day reminded me of a Simon
and Garfunkle love song, or a mash up of all the ones about romantic rainy
days.
And as I watch the drops of rain
Weave their weary paths and die
I know that I am like the rain
There but for the grace of you go I
Contact me if you need help planning your surprise proposal, I do more then just shoot it, I will help you come up with the perfectly executed surprise customized and documented paparazzi style for your lady love!

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming
We had an ice storm that took down 7 trees in our yard, power was out for 4 days and we had no home phone for 2.5 weeks. All my December clients had to be rescheduled and things have just been topsy tervy all month. The good news is that things are mostly back on track now, and I have some fun shoots I can't wait to do and show off, but until then here is the storm aftermath. So pretty yet so destructive.
